Fine as an alarm clock, with large, bright, simple to see numerals. But nearly every buyer will buy this for the Nature Sounds, sounds appealing doesn’t it? falling asleep to the sound of crashing ocean waves. The reality is that the sounds are poor and you would hardly know what they are supposed to be, if you didn’t know. Also the sound clips are so small (about 2 seconds) that it’s like a gramophone with a stuck needle.
Unless mine is faulty…can any other owner confirm longer than 2-3 seconds?
If the sound loop was about 30 seconds it would be fantastic. As it is, it reminds you of train wheels clicking over the rail joints (clickety click, clickety click), one clickety-click is as long as you get, therefore each sound comes over as unnatural and is very annoying.
What a disappointment…

I agree with earlier review. Excellent looking clock and bought ENTIRELY for the promised sounds of nature to wake me up. The sound clips are only about 2 seconds long and therefore verge on harrassment. Also, unless I was doing it incorrect, I could only be woken up by one of the sounds – the others were for falling asleep to only it seems. I now have a new clock and feel better for it.

The alarm sounds are a bit wishy washy but adequate to awake the most deep sleep and the snooze button simple to find. The clock keeps excellent time and is simple to see and read have just ordered another one for the other side of the bed!!

Fantastic thought. But the numbers are so bright they light up the whole room (I have to keep a tea towel perminantly over it) the snooze button is near impossible to find (can be found by sight alone, not touch)and worst of all the sounds it makes are horrific and far from soothing or relaxing. This is the worst alarm clock I have ever bought, total waste of money.
None of the sounds are identifible (I had to look up in the instruction booklet what each was supposed to be) and thay remind me of the ancient mobile ringtones before the polyphonic ones (i.e. only about 4 different notes) except that this is far more annoying and mechanical sounding. The clips sound infact not dissimilar to a poorly washing machine. Each of the 4 choices are less than 2 seconds long and on a loop…so extremely annoying very quickly. The only one that wakes me up is the one that is supposed to be birds singing but sound like a clown laughing or someone saying “Ah ha haa” over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over – DO NOT BUY!!!
