I bought the Philips a while back as it is of course a well known brand.
It was fantastic until the light stopped working – then I saw how much replacement bulbs are! That’s the thing with many products when they break down you find out how much spare parts are and gulp. The Philips are not exactly cheap – okay not too terrible but still.
So on to this one. I have only had it about a month so no problems as yet. The pros are that it uses LED bulbs so runs off batteries. Don’t be place off by this as LEDs last for ages and so do the batteries as long as you use alkaline batteries. This also means no wires. I don’t know about other people but I despise wires trailing all over the place. The light is bright but not too bright. It does the job and that is okay by me. The final pro is the price which I consider to be excellent value. The only con I have is that it would have been nice to have a radio like on the Philips but still you can’t have everything. Besides, although I don’t personally use it, I do reckon the room temp. show could be useful for some people. Overall a very excellent buy…

I bought this clock rather than a similar model because of the temperature feature. It is nice to know how warm the room is and this can contribute to sleepless nights. Sorry… I have to mark this clock as very average! The light isn’t bright enough to waken you and how some people claim it can help with SAD…Well I refuse to beleive that. If you buy this clock don’t buy it thinking it will help cure SAD or that the light from it will wake you up, buy it as an alarm clock with a dim light attached.
