I was given this product as a present. After reading about how it works, I managed to get it going in a matter of minutes. I was amazed when at 7 o’clock when the dawn simulator kicked in and and the light got brighter gradually. I got up all energised unlike the way it used to be when I found it hard to wake up. I tried the light therapy in the evenings as I was suffering from fatigue and again it seems to do the trick. I highly recommend this product it is worth every penny.

I realised this year that a pattern was developing and that I felt really low whenever it was dark and grey. My mood was noticeably improved from sitting in the morning sun – and I chose to look into SAD lamps.
I was faced with an overwhelming range of options, from the cheapest portable to some very expensive and larger products. Having reviewed the light output from all of these items – and considered the range of functions, I chose that the PER3 was probably the best value and most versatile product on the market for my needs. The choice is confused by manufacturers quoting lumen outputs for different distances from lamps – but standardising distances for comparison showed this lamp is amongst the most powerful in the price range. Other wake-up alarm-clock lamps seemed considerably less powerful and probably of less therapeutic use.
I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this item – my mood has been significantly and noticeably improved since I got it, and I use it regularly in all 3 modes. The sunrise wake up is wonderful, and I then lie comfortably in bed getting my therapeutic dose of light before the day ahead. At night I use the sunset function and I find that I drift off comfortably to the fading light. On really dark days I can easily use it as a desktop lamp and get a top up of light (it retains all of the settings when you unplug and go it – which is not mentioned in either the product description or the manual).
I am not exagerating when I say that I feel pleased when I see that bright light! My friends have noticed that I am in a better space and as an added bonus the light is energy efficient.

My wife bought one of these devices and has said that it is very effective in countering SAD.
But I notice (though this is nothing to do with Amazon itself since it is sold in the UK by a third party) that this is yet another device where it is sold at x dollars in the USA and x pounds in the UK, making this already pricey device around twice as expensive in the UK as in the USA.

I delight in using this light every morning and have to share it with my 11 year ancient too. It is a hint of sun in the gloom. I really reckon it has helped with my energy and mood. Well worth the money. It is by far the most attractive and the only light I found that also wakes you up with gradual light too.
